Side effects · from anecdote to data
Side effects, tracked like they matter.
“Some nausea, I think, around week three?” isn't information your prescriber can act on. A severity log with dose context is. GLPMate turns rough days into a usable record.
A GLP-1 side-effect tracker records each symptom with a 0–10 severity, shows 15/30/90-day trends, and overlays your dose changes — because most GLP-1 side effects are titration-related and settle within weeks. GLPMate includes it free, and folds the chart into your doctor report.
Severity, not vibes
The difference between “nausea: yes” and “nausea: 6/10, easing to 2 by evening” is the difference between worry and information.
- 0–10 scale per symptom, two taps to log
- Optional note for context (“after fatty lunch”)
- Log by chat: “nausea was a 6 this afternoon”
Trends with dose context
The most reassuring sentence in a GLP-1 journey is “this usually settles in two to three weeks.” Your own chart proving it is even better.
- 15 / 30 / 90-day windows
- Titration steps marked on the same axis
- Most GI side effects peak at dose steps and fade — you’ll see it happen
Ready for the appointment
Dose decisions often hinge on tolerability. Walking in with a clean severity chart makes that conversation short, specific and yours.
- Severity-by-week chart included in the doctor PDF report
- CSV export for your own analysis
- The assistant can summarize: “how did week 6 compare to week 2?”
GLPMate helps you record symptoms; it does not diagnose or treat them. Severe or persistent symptoms need your prescriber — or emergency care — not an app.
Side-effect tracking questions
Which side effects can I track?
Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, reflux/heartburn, fatigue, headache, dizziness, injection-site reactions and more — each with a 0–10 severity and optional note. Free-form symptoms work too.
Why score severity 0–10 instead of just “yes/no”?
Because the useful clinical question is rarely “did you have nausea?” — it’s “is it getting better or worse, and did the dose change affect it?”. Severity scores make trends, and trends make decisions.
Can I see side effects against my dose changes?
Yes — the trend view overlays your titration steps, so “nausea spiked the week I moved to 5 mg, settled after three weeks” is visible instead of vaguely remembered.
Does the app remind me to log symptoms?
A gentle evening check-in (only if you enable it) asks how the day went — the least intrusive way to build a record that’s actually complete.
Will this data go in the doctor report?
Yes — the PDF report includes side-effect severity by week, which is exactly the format a 10-minute appointment needs.
When should I contact a doctor instead of just logging?
Severe or persistent symptoms — significant abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, signs of dehydration or an allergic reaction — need medical attention, not an app. GLPMate’s assistant is explicit about this line and will point you to your prescriber or emergency services.
