Missed-dose rules by medication
Each GLP-1 has its own missed-dose window, set by its FDA prescribing information. Here are the standard rules — the same ones the tool above uses.

Why you should never "double up"
GLP-1 side effects — nausea, reflux, fatigue — scale with how fast your level rises. Taking two doses close together spikes your level and almost always means a rough few days. The label windows exist precisely to avoid that. When in doubt, skip and resume; you lose very little by waiting one cycle.
After a longer gap

I missed my weekly GLP-1 shot — should I take it or skip it?
It depends on the medication and how long ago it was. For semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) you can usually take it within 5 days of your scheduled day, then resume your normal schedule. For tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) the window is 4 days (96 hours). Past that, skip the missed dose and take your next one on your regular day — never double up.
What if I miss my Ozempic dose by more than 5 days?
The FDA label says skip the missed dose and take your next dose on your regularly scheduled day. Do not take two doses close together to make up for it. If you're unsure, your prescriber can advise.
What about a missed Mounjaro or Zepbound dose?
Take a missed tirzepatide dose within 4 days (96 hours). If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and resume your schedule, keeping at least 3 days between any two doses.
I missed a daily Rybelsus tablet — what now?
Skip the missed tablet and take your next one the following day at your usual time. Don't take two in one day. Remember Rybelsus's rules: take on an empty stomach with a sip of plain water, then wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything else.
What if I missed two or more doses in a row?
Talk to your prescriber before restarting, especially on semaglutide or tirzepatide. After a longer gap they may have you restart at a lower dose and re-titrate to reduce side effects — this is common and nothing to worry about.
