FDA-labeled escalation: 0.6 mg daily in week 1, then 1.2 mg, 1.8 mg and 2.4 mg daily in weeks 2–4, and 3 mg daily from week 5. 3 mg is the recommended adult dose — the lower doses are for titration only.
Missed a dose?
If you miss a dose, skip it and take the next one at your usual time — don’t take an extra dose or a bigger dose to make up for it. If more than 3 days have passed since your last dose, contact your prescriber: the label says to restart at 0.6 mg and step up again.
Storage
Before first use, refrigerate at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F); don’t freeze. After first use, a pen can be kept for 30 days at 15–30 °C (59–86 °F) or in the fridge. Keep the cap on and protect it from heat and sunlight.

Why does the Saxenda curve look so different from weekly GLP-1s?
Liraglutide has a half-life of about 13 hours, so levels rise and fall within each day and reach a steady pattern within a few days. Weekly medications like semaglutide build up over weeks instead.
Are Saxenda and Victoza the same medicine?
Both are liraglutide from Novo Nordisk, but with different labels: Saxenda is for weight management (3 mg daily) and Victoza for type 2 diabetes (up to 1.8 mg daily). The labels say not to combine liraglutide products — your prescription decides which one you take.
