Quick answer

To track Victoza well you need four things: every dose logged with its injection site, a reminder tuned to your daily schedule, your estimated medication level between doses, and side effects tied to each dose step. GLPMate does all four — free to start, on iOS and Android.

The numbers GLPMate models for you.

These parameters come from the FDA Prescribing Information for Victoza — the same source our level model uses.

Half-life ≈ 13 hours
Time to peak 8–12 hours after injection
Steady state after ≈ 3 days at the same dose
Form Once-daily injection (prefilled pen)

Typical dose schedule

From weekDose
Start 0.6 mg daily
Week 2 1.2 mg daily
Week 3 1.8 mg daily

FDA-labeled schedule for adults: 0.6 mg daily for one week (a starter dose that isn’t effective for glucose control), then 1.2 mg daily. If more glucose control is needed, 1.8 mg daily — the maximum — after at least one week on 1.2 mg.

Missed a dose?

If you miss a dose, skip it and resume your once-daily schedule with the next dose — don’t take an extra dose or increase the dose to make up for it. If more than 3 days have passed since your last dose, contact your prescriber: the label says to restart at 0.6 mg.

Storage

Before first use, refrigerate at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F); don’t freeze. After first use, a pen can be kept for 30 days at 15–30 °C (59–86 °F) or in the fridge. Keep the cap on and protect it from heat and sunlight.

Victoza tracking questions

How do I track a daily Victoza injection?

Set a daily reminder, log each injection with one tap and its site, and GLPMate models your estimated liraglutide level from your real doses — with weight and side effects alongside.

What if I miss a Victoza dose?

Per the label, skip it and resume with your next scheduled dose — never take extra to make up. If more than 3 days have passed, the label says to restart at 0.6 mg, so check with your prescriber first.

What does the level curve look like for Victoza?

Liraglutide’s half-life is about 13 hours, so levels peak 8–12 hours after each injection and fall again before the next one. With daily dosing the pattern becomes steady within a few days at the same dose.

Are Victoza and Saxenda the same medicine?

Both are liraglutide from Novo Nordisk, but Victoza is labeled for type 2 diabetes (up to 1.8 mg daily) and Saxenda for weight management (3 mg daily). They should not be combined — your prescription decides which one you take.

Can I see side effects by dose step?

Yes — log side effects with a 0–10 severity and GLPMate shows the trend against each step, from the 0.6 mg starter dose to 1.2 mg and beyond.

Is Victoza tracking free?

Yes — daily dose logging, reminders and the level curve are all part of the free core.
