Quick answer

To track Ozempic well you need four things: every dose logged with its injection site, a reminder tuned to your weekly schedule, your estimated medication level between doses, and side effects tied to each dose step. GLPMate does all four — free to start, on iOS and Android.

The numbers GLPMate models for you.

These parameters come from the FDA Prescribing Information for Ozempic — the same source our level model uses.

Half-life ≈ 1 week (about 7 days)
Time to peak 1–3 days after injection
Steady state after 4–5 weeks at the same dose
Form Once-weekly injection (pre-filled pen)

Typical dose schedule

From weekDose
Start 0.25 mg weekly
Week 5 0.5 mg weekly
Week 9 1 mg weekly
Week 13 2 mg weekly

Typical FDA-labeled schedule: 0.25 mg weekly for 4 weeks (starter, not effective for glycemic control), then 0.5 mg. If needed, increase after at least 4 weeks per step to 1 mg, then 2 mg max.

Missed a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it within 5 days of the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your regular day. Never double up — and confirm with your prescriber.

Storage

Unopened pens: refrigerate at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F). After first use, a pen can be kept at room temperature (below 30 °C) or refrigerated for up to 56 days.

FAQ

Ozempic tracking questions

How do I track my Ozempic shots?

Log each injection in GLPMate with dose, date and injection site — or type “took my 0.5 Ozempic shot” to the assistant. The app tracks your rotation, reminds you before your next shot and builds your level curve automatically.

How long does Ozempic stay in your system?

Semaglutide’s elimination half-life is about one week, so it takes roughly 5 weeks after the last dose for most of it to clear. That long half-life is also why your level builds gradually over the first month — GLPMate’s curve shows both effects.

What if I miss an Ozempic dose?

The FDA label says take it within 5 days; after that, skip and resume your schedule. GLPMate’s reminders make missed doses rare, and its missed-dose guidance reflects the label — but your prescriber has the final word.

Why do I feel different the day after my shot?

Your level peaks 1–3 days after injecting, then drifts down until the next dose. Many people notice appetite and side-effect patterns that follow this curve. GLPMate shows your estimated level any day, so the pattern stops being a mystery.

Can GLPMate remind me to move my injection site?

Yes. The body-map picker records where you injected and suggests the next site, so rotation between abdomen, thigh and upper arm happens without thinking.

Is Ozempic tracking free in GLPMate?

Yes — shot logging, reminders, site rotation and the medication-level curve are all in the free core. Premium adds the AI assistant, nutrition tracking and the doctor report.
