Converting Tirzepatide mg to syringe units

units = (dose in mg ÷ concentration in mg/mL) × 100

The ×100 is because a U-100 syringe marks 100 units per mL. So the units number is just your draw volume in mL, read on a finer scale.

A worked example

A 10 mg/mL vial, 2.5 mg dose: 2.5 ÷ 10 = 0.25 mL, and 0.25 × 100 = 25 units.

How do I convert Tirzepatide mg to units?

What is my concentration if the vial only lists total mg?

Divide the vial's total drug by its fluid volume. A vial labeled "10 mg / 0.5 mL" is 20 mg/mL. If your label already prints mg/mL, just use that number here.

What does U-100 mean, and what if I have a U-40 syringe?

U-100 means the syringe is marked so 100 units equal 1 mL — that's why units = mL × 100. A U-40 syringe marks 40 units per mL instead, so the same volume reads as a smaller unit number. Match the calculator to the syringe you actually have.

Can I convert units back to mg for Tirzepatide?
