**The formula:** units = (dose in mg ÷ concentration in mg/mL) × 100. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units = 1 mL — so your units number is just your draw volume, read on a finer scale.

FAQ

## mg ↔ units questions

### How do you convert GLP-1 mg to units?

Units = (dose in mg ÷ vial concentration in mg/mL) × 100. A U-100 syringe marks 100 units per 1 mL, so the units number is just your draw volume in mL on a finer scale. Pick your medication above for a calculator that does it both ways.

### Why do compounded GLP-1 users need this?

Brand pens (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound pens) are pre-measured. Compounded vials are not — you draw each dose yourself with an insulin syringe, which is marked in units, while your prescription is in mg. This converts between the two.

### What if my label only shows total mg?

Divide total drug by total volume to get concentration. A "10 mg / 0.5 mL" vial is 20 mg/mL. Enter that as your concentration.

### Is this a dosing recommendation?

No — it's arithmetic. Your dose comes from your prescriber, and you should confirm every conversion with your pharmacist, especially when your vial or dose changes.
